I have come to know that a big part of creating a fulfilling and meaningful life is about experiences. If we are not careful we can easily get swept up in the day to day to-do lists and other people's priorities and all the while time continues to move forward. Before you know it months or even years have passed and your list of things that you would like to do "someday" grows longer. Our time here is limited, so why not take some of it to craft your experiences and by extension your life?
CRAFTING YOUR EXPERIENCES
,It is truly up to us to decide how we are going to spend our time. However, in reality, most us are just going through the motions playing defense against all of the incoming stimuli that is vying for our time and attention. All the while, we create a mental wish-list of the things we want to do both big and small, like taking that drawing class, visiting the art museum, or going on that big trip you've always dreamt about. I think that it's time that we stopped wishing away our lives and actually started to live them.
Starting Right Now:
Then start planning your bigger vacation. Pay for it now if possible so you can't back out. Where will you stay, what do you want to eat, where do you want to go, what do you want to see? Then each day plan at minimum one hour just for yourself. What will you do…. Take a bath, read a book, journal, watch tv, take a nap? Block of the time and for that hour really enjoy it and be in the moment. I can already hear the protests, an hour a day or a weekend here and there, impossible! I have no time. But if you don't have an hour a day or a weekend every couple of months, then, well, you don't really have a life. Each experience that you create for yourself adds up over the months, over the years, over the span of your life and these are what creates your memories, meaning; your life. So make sure that you are the one that is creating those moments for yourself or you are at risk of living a life half lived! REMOVING THE UNWANTED
It's all good to create the experiences we do want, but at the same time, if we are being realistic, each of us have things that we actually need to do and that we don't look forward to doing. While this is a part of our everyday life that we need to deal with there are some ways that we can make it more manageable and less stressful, like:
To inspire you even more in the direction of experiencing your life I have curated 2 must watch videos that give valuable insights and tips but maybe even more importantly, they inspire you to live life on your own terms. If your going to watch TV anyways, you might as well watch something that will change your life! DESIGNING A LIFE THAT YOU LOVE
The more experiences you have the more you have to offer. The more that you are exposed to, the more you will learn and can draw from in every other faucet of your life. The more things you do, the more interesting you become, enabling you to create more connection in your life. But most of all, when you look back at your life, you don’t want to do so in regret. Instead, look back and smile at the life you created full of the memories and meaning.
Don't settle for the moments that just happen to you, create the moments that shape your life! Design YOUR Life ~ Be Authentic. Be You. Be Sharp! I would love to connect with you on social media, come find me there, and let's get together!
