With mother's day fast approaching and as I have been blessed with another new baby son myself, it got me thinking about motherhood in general, and all of the women that have contributed to making the world what it is by mentoring and loving the children who will and have become the future.
As a mom, I am so grateful to have experienced such profound love that it can't even be put into words and that I will always have endless gratitude for, and do not take for granted for one minute. Seeing the world through the eyes of your kids as they learn and grow is amazing and it really is the small moments, the giggle, the kiss, the firsts, and so on, that create these lasting memories that just fill you up with deep contentment.
But as a mother, I am going to be real in saying, that I also know very well how challenging it can be and so I wrote this, an ode to all mothers, for the days where:
If you are a mother or not, I have put this into a PDF so that you can send it to a mom/friend/grandma, etc. as a pick me up and a reminder that you appreciate all that they give. Get it HERE.
I have also put together the perfect playlist for the mother's out there. Send this to the woman /women in your life that contributed to making you who you are. This is really such a meaningful way to express the deep appreciation that should be given to mother's and the contribution that they are making. Get it instantly HERE.
An Ode to mothers
Always on call 24/7.
The one that they all go to, to answer any question.
To your family, all that you are, and all that you have is given.
You are responsible for the house, finances, work and every decision.
You are the one to make every sacrifice.
In hopes that for your family, all that you do, and all that you give, will suffice.
You are always questioning if you are doing things right.
Take a breath and know that nothing is black and white.
While these trials and tribulations put you to the test.
Feel solace in knowing that you are doing your best.
They say you can't tell based on words alone what is someone's real priority.
You know based on where they spend their money, energy and time and to them you give all 3.
Despite all of this you live in a culture that is constantly demanding more.
If you let it, it will run you ragged into the floor.
Each morning when your exhausted and dragging yourself out of bed.
On these days when you want to quit, or cry, you go and wake them up with a smile instead.
For all of these countless hours that you invest.
You never get a moment to yourself and to rest.
Despite all of this, you would do it again and again if asked.
Even when your underappreciated and live in a world where your expected to put yourself last.
For the love of your kids is a far stronger pull.
Then always doing what you need to keep your cup full.
Please remember, when you are down picking food up from the kitchen floor
That everything you are doing is adding up to so much more.
And as you fold what feels like the millionth piece of laundry,
Know beautiful woman, you can still be whatever you want to be.
One day you will have more hours free.
But for now you are growing the roots for the next community.
Through this all, just know that you are the ultimate producer.
With every kiss, every choice and sacrifice you are creating the future.
So to all the moms out there who feel like they can't live up to the call.
Know that you are doing a great job, the most toughest of all!!
Mother's really do so much out of the love for their kids and sacrifice so much of themselves in order to give their kids the best life possible. This mother's day (or any day for that matter) let's recognize those women in our lives that we could not live without.
Share the poem, share the playlist and let her know that you are thinking of her, because she is always thinking of you.
This is for all the mother's out there ❤️
